Resolute Forest Products has developed a comprehensive road and water crossing training curriculum for all employees who are, or have the potential to be, involved in road construction and water crossing installations. A qualified supervisor is always on site during water crossing installations to ensure that all appropriate legislation, as well as our own best management practices are followed.
In addition to this, 2003 saw the implementation of a comprehensive water crossing monitoring program. As a result of this program, over $1 million was spent upgrading or removing water crossings that posed a risk to aquatic habitat or the safety of forest access road users.
