Resolute Forest Products Ontario Woodlands' forests in Northern Ontario lie mostly in the Boreal Forest Region (90%) with a small portion in the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Forest Region (10%).
The graph below shows a breakdown of Resolute Forest Procucts Ontario Woodlands total operating area by landclass. The "Non-forested" category includes agricultural land, grass and meadowland, bare rock, swamps, wetlands, and other non-forestry classes of Crown land. The 54% area available for operations represents lands that are capable of supporting a mature forest and where forest management activities are permitted. The chart below shows a breakdown of this area. Slightly less than 1% of the area available for operations is our total annual allowable harvest.
